Title: Riccati Theory and Optimal Control of a Fluid-Structure Interaction System


Abstract: In this talk, we discuss developments in optimal control theory for a special class of infinite dimensional control systems with unbounded control known as Singular Estimate Control Systems. The study of this class was motivated by control systems modeled by coupled PDEs with hyperbolic and parabolic components and boundary or point control. We will focus on the application of the theory to the control of a coupled PDE system describing Fluid-Structure interaction. This is joint work with Irena Lasiecka from the University of Virginia.
